The Złotnicka Dam
About 6 km upstream from the Leśniańska Dam lies a second, slightly more recent structure of this type – the Złotnicka Dam. The construction methods used during its building are essentially the same as those employed at Leśna. The dam has the following dimensions: it is 36 m high, 27 m wide at the base and 160 m long at the crest. The structure was built between 1919 and 1924 by Polish labourers. It is interesting to note that the project took place during a period of severe financial turmoil in Germany. The power station situated below the dam dates from 1922–1924. It is worth mentioning that the construction of the dams on the Kwis River was the largest engineering project in the history of the Luban region.
