The Ruins of Jiljov Castle

Not far from the Holany recreational area lie the remains of the Jiljov fortification. The romantically landscaped rock is surrounded by a wide moat with a retaining wall at the edge of the site, though this wall is no longer visible today. The entire complex—a circular rampart and a sandstone pillar with a staircase carved into it—was built as part of the landscaping around Nový Zámek after 1820. At the top of the staircase is a rock resting area.
